Transcript: Small victories after surgery

I can bend over and tie my shoes now, without (any) issues. (I can) bend over and pick things up that I couldn’t before. You know, I used to have to figure out how to maneuver to tie my shoe. Now I can bend over and tie my shoe. Simple things, (like) washing my back. I can reach around now and wash my own back. Before you don’t think about all the… excess fat I had around me. Instead of just getting the wash cloth, it was an epiphany, when I was reaching around and just washing myself, and I can reach all the way around. And you know, that was neat. And being able to walk, and just walk normally without pain is neat. I mean… before, just walking to the end of the street, my back would be hurting or I had to stop. And now it just doesn’t affect me anymore. So, just those little things, that most people take for granted, but when you’re overweight that becomes part of your life. It was like, wow, I can do this.
